Three Ardal staff reviewing a plan beside large filters in a pump shed

What we do

Contract and tender management

We run tenders so every contractor prices the same job, then manage the work on site until it matches the design.

Overview

Independent at every step.

A tender is only as good as the specification behind it. We write the specification so every contractor prices the same scope, compare what comes back like for like, and manage the contractors on site once work starts. We act for you throughout, and you can see the basis for every assessment.

Owners and developers

A fair tender and a contractor held to the specification.

Corporate groups

A like for like comparison to put in front of decision makers.

Farm managers

Someone on site checking the work while you run the farm.

What we do

What we cover.

Tender specifications

We write the specification from the design, so every contractor is tendering on the same scope, materials and standards. Gaps in a specification tend to come back as variations, so we close them before the tender goes out.

  • Scope written from the design
  • Materials and standards specified
  • Every contractor tendering on equal terms
  • Tender documents ready to issue

Tender review, like for like

Prices only compare fairly when they cover the same work. We go through each tender item by item, find what was left out or priced differently, and set them side by side.

  • Every tender assessed the same way
  • Exclusions and gaps identified
  • Item by item comparison
  • Findings set out plainly for your decision

Managing contractors on site

Once a contractor is engaged, we manage them on site and coordinate the installation so it matches the design and the specification. Standards are audited as the work goes in, not after.

  • Contractors managed on site
  • Installation coordinated across contractors
  • Work audited against the specification
  • Site changes handled by the design team

Independence and transparency

Our assessments are based on what suits the project, regardless of brand or contractor. You see the specification, the tenders and the reasons behind our assessment.

  • Assessed on the project's needs, not a brand
  • Tenders and assessments shared with you
  • Reasons written down
  • Standards and performance audited independently

Questions

Tenders, answered.

What is tender management?

Tender management is running the process of getting prices from contractors, from writing the specification to comparing the tenders and helping you choose who does the work. On an irrigation project it means every contractor prices the same design to the same standard, so the lowest price is a real saving and not a gap in the scope.

Why are irrigation quotes so different?

Usually because the contractors are pricing different things. One allows for a bigger pump, another leaves out filtration or automation, another assumes the owner does the trenching. A tight specification and a like for like review show where the real differences are.

Do you manage the contractors once work starts?

Yes. We manage contractors on site and coordinate the installation, so the system is built to the design and the specification. If the design has to change on site, the team that surveyed and designed it makes the change.

Are you independent of the contractors?

Yes. We are engaged by you, not by the contractors tendering, and each tender is judged on what suits the project. Our reasons are written down so you can check them.

How much does tender management cost?

It's priced on application. What drives the price: the size and type of project, how many separate packages go to tender, how many contractors are tendering, and how much time on site the job needs. Send the details and we'll come back with a scope and a price.

Going to tender soon?

Send the property location, the design or scope you have, and when you want work to start. Nick, Matt or Aaron will call you back with a scope and a price.
